RSVP technology isn’t new and the one used in Spreeder 2024 is just the latest of its kind. So, how can you efficiently process information at 530 wpm and a chunk setting of 1-6 words? Well, Spreeder VIP also includes guided teaching modules that provide useful information on the following topics:
- What are speed reading techniques?
- How to reduce subvocalization or stop pronouncing the words silently?
- How to avoid skipping back in text or reduce regression?
- How to expand eye fixation in order to read and understand whole word groups?
- How to combine it all to improve comprehension?
Learning Outcome – The aim of those lessons is to introduce you to accelerated reading. This way, Spreeder just won’t highlight words and help you understand the core concepts of fast reading. Spreeder iPhone – Review
Many users have mentioned they would actually use Spreeder on their smartphone, which is why VIP is also available as an iPhone app.
The features are the same across all platforms and any data created or actions taken will be synchronized automatically on all devices. The iPhone app will ship for free with any new or existing VIP license.
A useful feature is that you can continue reading with Spreeder even without an active internet connection. However, choosing a different eBook or using other cloud features will require users to be online. iPhone users can also spreed webpages, whereas the app will recognize URLs and convert its content into an easy-to-digest text format.
Spreeder – Download and Installation
Installing Spreeder VIP is quickly done. After purchasing a license, all details will be sent in an email, among them your download link and registration code.
Login with Facebook or Google+ or create a new account using an email address. The password shouldn’t be longer than 15 characters if you set up from scratch.
Set a goal by running a test or go with the default option of 600 words per minute. You can review and adjust your goals any time later.
Dashboard – You will then land on the dashboard with key information about current and target speed, success status and next steps to do. This is your quick access point to browse the library, spreed webpages or watch video courses in Spreeder.
Tip – I encourage you to watch the expert videos in order to extract the key tips and strategies. Remember, you may increase pace quickly, but you will also need to improve on text apprehension and retention, thus your memory skills.
Spreeder Review – Pros & Cons
Performance
You may experience a few hiccups here and there. There is a feedback section you can use to report errors or to share your opinion about the user experience in general.
Spreeder VIP is well organized, though it may take some time to learn which button hosts which function. Try to get familiar with the interface and how to adjust the pace quickly, the number of lines, reading mode, going back to the dashboard, etc.
Loading stats or other data that sits in the cloud might take some time. Clicking the stats button again often resolves the issue. The very first login might take its time too.
Spreeder iPad doesn’t support keyboard shortcuts, which isn’t a downside but rather a technical limitation due to tablets not having a physical keyboard. Having said that, external keyboards attached to the iPad won’t change that for now. However, one license serves them all, so you can always switch to the desktop or browser interface.
Features
One thing I would like to see improved is moving the “Add Button (+)” for inserting a URL, Paste Text or Document to the top of the screen. It is currently located at the bottom right corner and it took me some time to find that feature at the beginning ;).
A downside is the lack of a customized Spreed Bookmarklet as known from the free version. You can already enter any URL quite easily, but I could imagine the process being simplified. A One-Click action to copy a URL and start spreeding content would further improve the overall good user experience.
eBook library
Spreeder VIP does come with a library of eBooks and is free to use for both practicing and reading. Keep in mind this is a royalty-free selection, so do not really expect the latest picks from the New York Times best-seller list here. I found some nice classics though, however, based on my review, I recommend using your own content.

By adding expert training and exercises, Spreeder VIP developed into a competitive online speed reading course, particularly because there are so many other RSVP eReaders out there. Based on my experience, Spreeder VIP is worth giving a try, particularly in combo with the iPad/iPhone apps, which are included with each existing or new license.
It’s an attractive deal as each platform caters to the user’s specific needs and still provides the same feature and specs. The Spreeder apps also support various gestures or thumb taps for navigation.
